Support for Communities

We’ve been hard at work making repairs to facilities and introducing programs that enrich the lives of our students.  Some of the projects we work on have an indirect impact but are crucial none the less; such as ensuring the schools have enough foodservice products to serve the students with or simply just having fresh water to drink.  Others are designed to build on the sense of community and comradery, like celebrating the hard work of our students with a community movie night!

One of our largest and most ambitious projects has been to bring the power of music in the form of a music room where our students can learn to play instruments and express the beauty of their Hattian culture through music! And now, with generous donations from people such as yourself and a little hard work, that goal has become a reality. In June of 2020 we opened our 1st music room with over 57 musical instruments, gear and supplies! Shortly thereafter we hired a music teacher to teach our students the art of playing music on those instruments, THANK YOU!

After School Programs

Creating after-school programs where students can study, receive tutoring, participate in educational activities and discover a love of learning is at the core of our mission of helping Haiti grow through education. Endeavors such as this require a large support system to be successful. That’s why its important that we involve the local community; from students and parents to teachers and local municipalities.

That support system however, doesn’t stop there. Without your continued support and donations these projects would sadly grind to an unfortunate halt. Please continue to stay involved and donate.

Guy Munoz Music Room

The scientific implications of music on learning, creativity, memory, motivation and positive social interactions are far reaching. Music is the universal form of communication known and used by all cultures all over our planet! It’s important that our students have access to such a far reaching and impactful resource.

In collaboration with Dorothy Madison at the Guitar Center and special supporter Mr. Anthony Munoz and the Munoz family; the Guy Munoz Music Room was opened to our students in June of 2020.

Water

The most essential and abundant resource on the planet - water. It nourishes and replenishes our minds and bodies. When we saw the faculty and students pouring bleach down the schools water well as a means of purification, then drinking that same water we knew we had to act. We added a water filtration system to the well so that the school and students had clean drinking water.
